My air conditioner stopped working on a Friday at 2:00 p.m. I got on Yelp and found that Blue Bear had 24 five-star reviews so gave them a call. By 5:30 p.m. same day, a tech was at my house fixing the issue. He explained it’s a temporary fix to help me get through the weekend with air conditioning. Two weeks later, the A/C died again and needed replacement. Blue Bear was extremely responsive to get the new A/C installed quickly. Prompt, professional, responsive. Will always use them.

Blue Bear was one of three companies I contacted about replacing my system. I chose them because they were competitively priced, had good reviews, and I like to support smaller businesses. They installed the new system within a few days. There was a problem with the compressor and they replaced it immediately, with no hassle. I have had questions along the way and they have always responded immediately, even driving out from St. Pete to show me something about the system when I misunderstood them over the phone. I heard about Blue Bear from my neighbor. My two AC units were 19 years old and one was failing. I researched different units and numerous AC companies and all were confusing—quotes, brands, etc. I contacted Blue Bear and Pat spent several hours discussing tonnage, SEER2, my house, and units. I had planned to replace one unit, but after talking with Pat I contracted for both AC units. Installation was done in one day and made everything easy for us. Paul, installation, did an outstanding job. If you are thinking about replacing your AC units or just service, give them a call. You will be happy you did. They actually care about their customers. It was time to update the old AC, so I reached out to a few companies but decided to go with Blue Bear Heating and Air. Their representative, Daniel Silva, is very helpful, polite, and courteous, with a good knowledge of the ACs being sold, and the process required. He provided the best price that I could get. I think it was because of him and his professionalism that I decided to go with this company. On the day when the AC was supposed to be changed, two people showed up on time, and they started their jobs and completed all of it pretty quickly. I would say it took around 5–6 hours. Both of them respected our property and were very professional too. We worked from home that day and were not bothered at all. It's been over a month now, and the AC is running pretty good and looks solid. So I will definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to change AC or facing any issues with ACs.

At more than 17 years of operation in the Florida heat, my central AC unit was on its last legs. It was still working reasonably well but needed a number of major replacement parts, and my electricity bill was through the roof. Rather than wait for it to stop working in the middle of a holiday weekend, as would be my luck, I thought it was time to replace the system. While I am a fairly skilled handyman, the most I knew about HVAC systems was how to lower the thermostat, so I decided to call a few local contractors for estimates. The folks at Blue Bear Heating and Air were a pleasure to work with. After coming out to the house, they promptly provided me with a few different written estimates and answered all of the questions I had and were willing to negotiate their terms in order to earn my business. The service appointment was made for a window of between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. I received an automated email stating the technician was on his way at 1:44 p.m. At approximately 4:03 p.m. the technician still had not arrived, so I made a call for an ETA. I was informed by the dispatch department that they were showing him as already at my residence. I informed them that he wasn't onsite. They did not have his location, and I was informed that they were going to try and locate him. Approximately 5 minutes after I ended the call, the technician showed up! I was not very happy with the tardiness of the technician as I had taken half the day off of work to be home for the window he was supposed to show up for. I could have worked and saved 4 hours of vacation time since he did not arrive until a bit after 4 p.m. As far as the technician David R., he was apologetic, polite, informative, and did a professional installation of my EV outlet and cleaned up after the installation. I am, however, not impressed with the office not reaching back out to me to inform me of the status of the technician's arrival and the fact I wasted 4 hours of vacation time. One more gripe: I was supposed to get a 10% veterans discount that was offered, but it did not apply to the balance. 2/20/26 Updated After the owner Mike had read my review, he promptly called me first thing the next morning. Mike was genuinely concerned and apologetic about my experience with Blue Bear, and we had a very sincere conversation, and he wanted to earn my 5 star review. Mike offered me a hefty discount on the service, and he made good on his promise to compensate me for time I took off of work for the install. I will definitely use Blue Bear services in the future. It was nice to see an owner who truly cares about his customers and wants to make it a 5 star experience! Thank you Mike and the Blue Bear team!

Hired Blue Bear for an electrical panel replacement. Received several bids; they weren’t the cheapest, but they were fair. They also were the only provider to recommend rotating the panel outward (it was facing inside a utility closet) to meet code. They worked with me to schedule the job around my renters' schedule. When they ran into a hiccup on the job (our master shutoff had to be replaced), Mike reached out and took ownership of the situation. Mike was patient in answering all of my calls and questions. That was sincerely appreciated. Sarasota is a tough market for home service providers. Lots of providers and lots of noise. These guys stood out for their ability to deliver on their promises at an honest price. I would highly recommend them.

I recently used Blue Bear for both plumbing and electrical and love it when I come across a company that delivers excellent service because that can be hard to find. Blue Bear is one of those companies. Willing to go above and beyond to take care of their customers' needs and great attention to detail. They came out on a Sunday to replace my sewer line because I had guests coming for the holidays. They found a great solution when challenges arose as well. All of the plumbing technicians I dealt with were professional, hardworking, friendly, and attentive to my needs. Unfortunately, I only remember one plumbing technician's name, Alex, but they were all great, and I plan to use them in the future for other work. And a big shoutout to my electrician, Josh, who I also will be using again for additional work. Smart, knowledgeable, hard-working, very attentive to detail, congenial, and a never-say-die attitude about figuring things out.
